Deepika Padukone to miss spending Diwali with parents
Deepika Padukone, currently in Delhi filming for Imtiaz Ali's next opposite Saif Ali Khan, is paying the price for being one of Bollywood's busiest stars, by having to miss spending Diwali with her parents this year, something that she has never done before.
"I have spent every Diwali with my family and was looking forward to it this year as well. But this year I shall be in Delhi shooting and it doesn't seem possible. I will be missing my family a lot," the 22-year-old leggy charmer from Bangalore told Sawf News exclusively, making us want to throttle director Imtiaz Ali and producer Saif Ali.
Last year, Deepika's parents, former badminton ace Prakash Padukone and Ujjala, as well as her sister, Anisha, 17, an aspiring golfer, had come down to Mumbai to be with Deepika for the festival of lights, as she was busy promoting her debut film Om Shanti Om, which had just released.
"Deepika had earlier taken a Ganpati break and gone to Bangalore to visit her family," a source told us.
Even following the completion of Imtiaz Ali's next, there is going to be little respite for Deepika.
"Once she is done with the Delhi schedule of Imtiaz Ali's film, she will be heading straight back to Mumbai to shoot a promotional video for Chandni Chowk To China along with Akshay Kumar," the source added.
It will be around the same time that boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor is scheduled to leave for USA on a two 2 month shooting stint for Karan Johar production, Wake Up Sid.
