Hrithik-Deepika romance to set the screen afire!
Mumbai, Oct 30: Bollywood’s sexy lady Deepika Padukone is flying high these days as she is all set to romance the hazel-eyed hunk Hrithik Roshan. Soon after bagging a role opposite the Bollywood hotties Shah Rukh, Saif and Akshay at the very start of her career, Deepika is gearing up to play the love interest of Hrithik.
According to our source, none other than director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finalised Deepika and Hrithik for his next film, which is going to be a touching love story. Reports also reveal that the two actors haven’t signed on the dotted line yet, but they are likely to do so as soon as they meet Bhansali.
Meanwhile, Bhansali is reportedly zeroing on rest of the cast. However, film’s lead couple is mute over the project as the two are currently engrossed with their ongoing projects. Hrithik is busy with his home production ‘Kites’ and Deepika is working hard for Saif's untitled home production.
Well, romancing the biggies SRK, Akshay, Saif and Hrithik, at the start of her career, seems to be no less than a jackpot for the long-legged beauty!
Deepika graces the cover of Grazia
You have always heard them say that 'A Diamond is a girl's best friend'. But have you ever wondered that who is a guy's best friend? Well, we cannot speak for others though, but one thing's for sure that if the guy is Ranbir Kapoor, then, his best friend HAS to be Deepika Padukone, who also is the cover-girl for this issue of the fashion magazine Grazia! If looking a thousand bucks means looking beautiful, then, the snaps of Deepika in this issue simply makes her priceless! Maybe, that's why she is justified to the core when she declares that "I charge what I think I am worth and if people are willing to pay me that much, it must mean that they think that I'm worth it too. No one affords risks like investing in actors they don't really believe in." Deepika is one girl, who can glorifyingly justify the term 'Hot Property' with her elegance and persona to match!
Lastly, to add a few words of wisdom, let us also tell you that Prakash Padukone, besides being an ace badminton player and also Deepika's proud father, is also the reason as to why she is so much grounded even though at the peak of her career! In her own admission, she says "My father's always told me that fame is temporary and it's not important to dwell on it too much." With those values intact, Deepika surely will climb the ladder of success in this glam world.
Deepika wants to do a film on badminton
"Look at what 'Chak De India' did to hockey. I would love to do a really good film on the game of badminton. In fact, efforts are on to put a project like this together."
"I would like to contribute as much as possible to sports. Yes, I'd support badminton more than any other sport. But I'd like to support Indian sports in every way possible," she said. Deepika, who played badminton with her dad Prakash Padukone, said the two were playing together after a long time and for the first time in front of media.
She said she is good at time management and that comes from being a sport person. "I started travelling at a very young age. That taught me to be punctual." Sharing her experience on the stunts and martial arts performed in "Chandni Chowk To China", Deepika said she got herself a chronically sprained ankle.
"The stunts in 'Chandni Chowk To China' were tough. Fortunately I got no broken bones. But I got a twisted ankle which will remain with me. My left ankle will remain sprained for all my life."
"I sprained it once while rehearsing and then I sprained the same ankle at exactly the same place twice again. Luckily it's not a fracture. But I can't sit cross-legged or sit on my hunches... I can't do anything that requires me to put my weight on my left leg," she said.
Being from an athletic family, Deepika always wanted to do an action film. "Yes, I always wanted to do an action character. I'm glad I got an opportunity. Akshay Kumar was a fantastic co-star. The way he comes on the sets and goes through the scenes of the day and the way he improvises, is tremendous."
Speaking on endorsements, Deepika said she has turned down the Nakshatra diamond deal after Aishwarya Rai's contract ended.
"I don't know who else they went to. But they did come to me. And things didn't work out. I'm as selective about my endorsements as I am about my movies. I'd definitely endorse brands that I believe in. I'd like to represent brands that suit my age. I'm endorsing the Signature brand for Levis, Kingfisher Airlines, Tissot."

Friday, October 24, 2008 (New Delhi)
Sensuous Deepika Padukone seems to be in love! But hang on she hasn't split up with beau Ranbir Kapoor rather this dusky beauty will be seen romancing Bollywood hottie Hrithik Roshan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next untitled project.
Reports are that Bhansali has finalised the lead couple and is zeroing on rest of the cast.
But the supposed lead actors are silent over the whole episode as currently Hrithik is busy with his home production Kites and Deepika is engrossed with Saif's untitled project directed by Imtiaz Ali. Hope this news is true and we get to see this sizzling pair onscreen soon.
I charge what I'm worth: Deepika Padukone
If looking a thousand bucks means looking beautiful, then, the snaps of Deepika in this issue simply makes her priceless! Maybe, that's why she is justified to the core when she declares that "I charge what I think I am worth and if people are willing to pay me that much, it must mean that they think that I'm worth it too. Deepika Padukone to romance Hrithik Roshan
At the very start of her career, Deepika is getting to be the love interest of Bollywood big wigs like Shahrukh Khan , Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar . Now, the latest news is that she is set to play the ladylove of Hrithik Roshan.
According to the B-Town buzz, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finalized Deepika and Hrithik for his next film which is going to be a touching love story. Though the two actors haven’t reportedly signed on the dotted line yet, they are likely to do so when they meet Bhansali in the near future.Hrithik is presently holidaying in Bora Bora, close to Tahiti with his wife Suzanne Khan. He has been busy for the last two months shooting his home production Kites in USA.
On the other hand, Deepika has been busy with Saif’s home production that’s being directed by Imtiaz Ali . She is also working with Akshay in Chandni Chowk To China for which she has even learnt Ju-jitsu.
Deepika also graces the cover of the latest edition of Grazia magazine.
I am more relaxed acting with Ranbir: Deepika
Padukone is still basking in the success of her second release, Sidharth Anand’s Bachna Ae Haseeno. The conversation veers towards Kapoor as her co-star and Padukone acknowledges, “I am more relaxed when I am acting with him and it shows on screen,” she smiles. In fact, ever since their romance became public, there have been many offers for them as a lead pair. But the actor is quick to point out in the same breath that they are not looking to cash in on their romance. “We don’t approach offers thinking it will give us more time with each other. We have been signing projects only if they are appropriate for our careers. With that kind of money involved, nobody takes a risk unless they are confident it will pay off,” she says.
Soon, we’ll see the 22-year-old in Nikhil Advani’s Chandni Chowk to China opposite Akshay Kumar, where she again has a double role after Om Shanti Om. “I am very fond of the movie because it’s the first time I have attempted action in a film. I had been training in jujitsu most of last year that involves hanging from cables and wires,” says Padukone, with some bruises from her action sequences clearly visible.
“There’s this particular fight sequence that I have with Akshay in the movie which I was quite nervous about. He taught me action should be like a dance, smooth and graceful,” she recalls. Even as she waits for the release of the film during Diwali, the actor is busy shooting for director

Deepika on Ranbir and what Akshay taught her
CNN-IBN: You'll be walking the ramp for Shantanu and Nikhil?
Deepika: Yes, I get to walk for my brand Fiama and get to walk for Shantanu-Nikhil who I am extremely fond of, because the way they design is exactly my style - simple, girly and sexy
CNN-IBN: Chandni Chowk to China is coming up and you are doing all your stunts. Akshay (Kumar) does that to the leading ladies?
Deepika: I think I have been fortunate enough to be a part of his comeback action film. I think he hasn't done hardcore action in a long time, and for me as an actor, I wanted to be a part of this action film. What better way! Akshay and I have an interesting fight sequence
CNN-IBN: So how did you fight a man?
Deepika: It's choreographed obviously, but he did teach me a lot. He told me when you do action, it's not about tensing your body and being all macho. It's about being relaxed and treating it like a dance
CNN-IBN: Is Ranbir a suave and intelligent talker?
Deepika: There's an audience, they should take a pick.
CNN-IBN: But what's Deepika's take?
Deepika: Enough has been said - he talking about me, me talking about him. He is a simple person and I like to believe he is very normal like everyone else

Deepika to miss out family this Diwali
Deepika Padukone at India Fashion Week
Today Deepika Padukone is one of the busiest actors of Bollywood. During Ganpati, she somehow managed to celebrate it with family and friends as she was busy shooting for Bachna Ae Haseeno but this time she is going to miss out Diwali celebrations with family as she is busy shooting for Saif Ali Khan's home production. Like every Diwali, she is willing to make merry with family but it is quite impossible for her. Deepika's unfeasibility reminds her again and again that she is a star and like any other stars she also has to pay the price of stardom.
This is the first time Deepika will be away from family on Diwali. She had celebrate diwali every year with huge pomp and show with her parents, former badminton ace Prakash Padukone and Ujjala, as well as her sister, Anisha, 17, an aspiring golfer. Last year also Deepika was about to miss out Diwali for promoting her debut film Om Shanti Om but her family came down to Mumbai to enjoy the festival of lights with their loving daughter.
Speaking about missing out Diwali, Deepika said, "I have spent every Diwali with my family and was looking forward to it this year as well. But this year I shall be in Delhi shooting and it doesn't seem possible. I will be missing my family a lot."
She will be shooting in Delhi

Deepika Padukone has a very tight schedule and will not be getting any break for Diwali this year. She is shooting for Saif's home production directed by Imtiaz Ali.
Confirming the news Deepika said she will be shooting in Delhi and thus will not be able to celebrate Diwali with the family.
Last year, too, Deepika was busy with the release of her debut film “Om Shanti Om”, which kept her away from home during Diwali. But her parents and her sister had come down to Mumbai to visit her.
After shooting in Delhi, she will be back in Mumbai to shoot a promotional video for “Chandni Chowk to China” with Akshay Kumar.
Sarkar calling Deepika and Ranbir
Though Amitabh Bachchan may have expressed his reservation about working in the third Sarkar movie, Ram Gopal Varma never ruled out yet another sequel.
In fact, the news of ‘Sarkar 3’ was doing rounds since the day Sarkar Raj released. It was apparent from the open ending that Varma gave to the film.
Sarkar Raj ends with Amitabh shown ordering his wife Pushpa (Supriya Phatak) to call his grandson Chickoo (Kay Kay Menon’s son from the earlier film) back from wherever the boy is studying abroad.
This open ending gave rise to speculation that there would be a trilogy to the series. Varma, too, had confirmed that he might make another film by taking it on from where they had left.
Now news is that Ranbir Kapoor returns to the Sarkar’s haveli as Chickoo in the third film. And that’s not all, he is accompanied by his wife — Deepika Padukone.
The speculation is also rife that Jaya Bachchan might play a significant role too. Whatever the news or speculation, ‘Sarkar 3’ would be soulless without Big B. So, Amitabh and possibly Ash will be there for the sequel as well.
Deepika Padukone to miss spending Diwali with parents
Deepika Padukone, currently in Delhi filming for Imtiaz Ali's next opposite Saif Ali Khan, is paying the price for being one of Bollywood's busiest stars, by having to miss spending Diwali with her parents this year, something that she has never done before.
"I have spent every Diwali with my family and was looking forward to it this year as well. But this year I shall be in Delhi shooting and it doesn't seem possible. I will be missing my family a lot," the 22-year-old leggy charmer from Bangalore told Sawf News exclusively, making us want to throttle director Imtiaz Ali and producer Saif Ali.
Last year, Deepika's parents, former badminton ace Prakash Padukone and Ujjala, as well as her sister, Anisha, 17, an aspiring golfer, had come down to Mumbai to be with Deepika for the festival of lights, as she was busy promoting her debut film Om Shanti Om, which had just released.
"Deepika had earlier taken a Ganpati break and gone to Bangalore to visit her family," a source told us.
Even following the completion of Imtiaz Ali's next, there is going to be little respite for Deepika.
"Once she is done with the Delhi schedule of Imtiaz Ali's film, she will be heading straight back to Mumbai to shoot a promotional video for Chandni Chowk To China along with Akshay Kumar," the source added.
It will be around the same time that boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor is scheduled to leave for USA on a two 2 month shooting stint for Karan Johar production, Wake Up Sid.
Nagarjuna in the remake of Om Shanti Om
A well known producer-director is said to have acquired the remake rights of OSO and is keen that only Nagarjuna reprise the role played by Shahrukh Khan. The search is on for a suitable heroine to play Deepika Padukone's role. The producer would naturally prefer Deepika for the role and is said to have approached her.
Its all work for Deepika
It is believed that Deepika who is a strong believer of Lord Ganesha, had taken a break for the Ganesh festival. She went to Bengalaru to celebrate the festival with her entire family. Deepika has always celebrated Ganesh festival and Diwali with her family. But this year, the beautiful actress will have to skip the ritual as she will be shooting in Delhi.
Deepika is shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s forthcoming film which will be Saif Ali Khan’s first home production. This untitled film stars Deepika and Saif in lead roles.
Interestingly this year our bong beauties Rani Mukherjee and Bipasha Basu too failed to join their families for the Durga Puja celebrations because of the same reason. Looks like the Bollywood actresses are taking their careers a tad too seriously.
I don't follow fashion trends: Deepika Padukone
Model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone, who is in the national capital to walk the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) ramp for designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil, says she does not follow any fashion trends. Mo<"I believe in being comfortable in what I wear instead of wearing something in fashion that does not suit my body. I don't follow fashion trends," said Deepika.
Deepika says her favourite designer is Manish Malhotra, who is popular with most Bollywood icons.
"Manish always goes out of his way for me and does a good job. He also did my first film Om Shanti Om," she said.
On Thursday, the actress was dressed in a one-shoulder, short salmon coloured dress designed by Shantanu-Nikhil, who are showcasing their collection at the WIFW as part of the sponsor show for personal care brand Fiama Di Wills.
"I am really looking forward to be a part of the show," Deepika said.
Deepika attended an event to announce the winner of a Fiama Di Wills Beautiful Face 2008 Hunt, organised in collaboration with the Elite Modelling Agency.
Delhi-based Prerana Sharma was crowned winner of the event by the actress.
Deepika said: "During my days of modeling, I never got any such opportunity or platform to showcase my talent. But god has been kind to me."

Two films. Two hits. And Deepika Padukone is comfortably placed as the top choices for a heroine when it comes to mainstream Bollywood. No wonder, she finds herself on the hot seat as Sajid Khan chats up with her on Sajid Superstars.
Famous for his scandalous quizzing Shahid the host asked the actress to choose her favorite actor between Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. She replied: `When Shah Rukh Khan acts, the nation rocks with him. And when Akshay acts, he rocks the nation`.
Later on, Deepika reveals details about her growing-up days. Surya - Deepika Padukone in Gautham's film
"Young actors like me would hesitate to do a film like 'Jillunu Oru Kaadhal,'" says Surya. Because of his impending marriage next month, he had not taken on any new assignments. Now, he's accepted Gautham's film.
Surya
After 'Kaaka Kaaka,' Gautham and Surya started work on 'Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam,' but after shooting started, there was heroine problem and the shooting was suspended. Surya resolutely said he was the one who had dropped the film. Now they have put back old differences. The Jyotika - Sarath Kumar film 'Silandhi' directed by Gautham is nearing completion and will definitely be completed before Jyotika's wedding.
In the new film, model turned actress Deepika Padukone is the heroine. It was Kannada actor/director Upendra who first cast her as a heroine. This will be Deepika's first Tamil film.
Milind Soman could also act in the film that has been tentatively titled as 'Naanthaan.' Gautham and Co are busy hunting for a better title!

Ranbir and Katrina Top Lists Twice!
In Filmfare, Ranbir was named the Face of 2008! Also making the cut were Deepika Padukone at number two and new hottie Imran Khan at number three.
Katrina topped two lists on that same poll. She is considered the sexiest pin up girl and as having the hottest figure. Who else has the hottest figure? Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor. Bipasha Basu came in at number two on the pin up list, as well followed up by Mallika Sherawat. Fans also think Mallika the biggest contender to be romanced by 007 in a Bond film with Bipasha and Kareena joining her on that list.
In other categories, Shah Rukh Khan topped the hottest Khan list with Salman and Aamir following close behind. Though Sallu was only second, he came in first as having the hottest body. Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham rounded out the picks for that steamy category.
On to Screen India and for that poll Katrina was named as the Changing face of Bollywood. Also on the list were Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor.
What did Ranbir win? He was named the Next Big Thing in Bollywood. Shahid Kapoor came in second, Deepika Padukone was a close third and Imran Khan came in at number four.
Screen India also asked fans who they considered path breakers and Aamir Khan took home that title, with Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan closing out the list.
The magazine also put two interesting questions to their readers. They wanted to know if they prefer mindless comedy, romance, historical or psychological thriller films? The answer mindless comedies topped the list with the other three following in that same order. They also asked if they minded kissing and item songs in Bollywood movies. The answer was split almost exactly in half with 48% saying they do not like them and 45% saying they don’t mind!

September 26, 2008 (Sawf News) - While Ranbir Kapoor slogs it out on the set of IAjab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in Ooty, actress Neetu Singh is eagerly preparing some culinary delights for her son, who turns 26 on Sunday, September 28.
In an exclusive tête-à-tête with Sawf News on Thursday, September 25, Neetu, a former Bollywood heartthrob herself, could not contain her excitement.

"Ranbir is in Ooty right now shooting for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. He is coming to Mumbai on 27th night. For his birthday, the next day, we have organized a get together of few family friends in the evening."
Deepika Padukone, who was recently in the capital filming for Imtiaz Ali's next with co-star Saif Ali Khan, is reported to have returned to Mumbai on Thursday. So is she expected to join the birthday party we asked?
"She is family. She has told us that she will be joining us," Neetu announced proudly.
Is Ranbir aware of this party?
"Yes he is. In fact it was his suggestion to hold it in our house. He always prefers to party home with his close ones around."
Are there any special dishes he has recommended you to make?
"He loves pasta a lot. So that is definitely on the menu list. He has been missing home cooked food for long. He is been away for a month and a half now shooting in Ooty."
What are you gifting him?
"We don't believe in giving gifts in our family. Blessings are the best gifts."
We suspect Deepika will make an exception to the rule, even though she is family but we kept that to ourselves.
Any more special guests from the industry have been invited?
"It's the regular few close family friends amongst which few are from the industry. But my daughter Riddhima and my son-in-law shall be missing this party. They are holidaying in London presently."
Have you been managing Ranbir's career?
"He discusses his projects with us and we offer suggestions. We don't interfere beyond that."
We learnt that recently you called up a mobile service provider and demanded a special mobile number for Ranbir. When they asked for a fat fee for the same you threw a tantrum telling them who you are and spoke about going to their rival company. Eventually they ended up giving that special number for free!
(Laughed) "Now that's news! I never knew I was that influential!"

Take Me As I Am says Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone has got a lot of fame in a very short span of time. She created waves in the fashion world first where she hit the ramp and finally when she made a debut with Farha Khan’s Om Shanti Om, we know that this girl really has the X-factor.
She is smart, she is beautiful and she is sexy, plus she acts quite well. We are impressed but what does it take to impress this beautiful girl.
She says, “Honesty, good natured, helpfulness and a nice sense of humour are the ‘must haves’…‘Good looks’ is obviously there in my list, but it does not figure that high in the pecking order.”
And guess what is Deepika’s idea of an ideal romantic escapade, “We would go to Rishikesh for some serious mountaineering and river rafting. I love adventure sports.”
The lass has some serious mind between those ears and she definitely cannot be taken for granted. She makes clear that she is not the sort who can change the way she is for a guy.
“If he likes me, he will have to accept me as I am. So definitely, he would have no right to dictate to me.”
Guess Ranbir is a well balanced mix of everything nice.
Kareena Deepika Bipasha Join Shahrukh
Shahrukh Khan is determined to make his Temptations Reloaded 2008 tour bigger than the Bachchan’s Unforgettable World Tour and so he has managed to get in a lot of big names on to his team list.
He has now roped Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu to join his Temptations Reloaded Team with Katrina Kaif, Anusha Dandekar and Arjun Rampal.
Cineyug’s Mohammed Morani (scriptwriter and director of the shows) confirmed and said, “Yes, we have signed Deepika and Bipasha for Temptation Reloaded. But, I haven’t worked out their dance moves yet. And we are in advanced talks with Kareena. She may join us for the shows in Dubai.”
A source said, “SRK has fans all over the world. It’s great that Deepika and Bipasha have joined the tour too. If Kareena comes on board, which is quite possible, it doesn’t get bigger than this.”
I somehow think, there are too many ladies on the board, SRK should have included good male performers who people really enjoy watching… It would’ve been bigger than this if someone like Hrithik joined him.
Ajith pairs with Deepika Padukone?
| ||
The buzz making rounds in Kollywood is that Ajith is tipped to be pairing with the latest and hottest sensation Deepika Padukone. The buzz also has it that it would be Saran, who would direct the film.
The yet-to-be-confirmed news has the potential to become the next big thing to be happening in Kollywood. If the news gets materialized, it would be an exciting development for the two stars, as both are in an upbeat mood. The handsome star Ajith is eagerly awaiting his 'Billa' to be released. He is said to be satisfied with the work and expect it to be a phenomenal movie in his career.
The model turned actor Deepika, who is hailed the next Aishwarya Rai in terms of beauty and grace, is in cloud nine following the success of her maiden venture 'Om Shanti Om'. If she gets a chance to act in a Tamil film opposite a leading star like Ajith, she would become an all India star overnight. She had earlier done a movie in Kannada alongside Upendra.
Saran, who has earlier given successful movies 'Kadhal Mannan', 'Amarkkalam' and 'Attahasam', is eying for another hit with Ajith. Saran has worked with many leading stars, including Kamal Haasan, Vikram, Madhavan, and Arya, has proven that he is a commercially successful director.
The movie would be the fourth for the Ajith – Saran combination. For the fans, of course, it would be a treat to watch.

So post OM SHANTI OM producers are running after you with bagful of roles and sackful of moolahs?
Yes I am getting my share of attention and quite a number of roles as well. But I have a long way to go and need to groom myself constantly to meet the expectations of my producers, directors and fans.
Don't you think that your success was assured the moment you signed your first film opposite the box office Badshah Shahrukh Khan?
I am really lucky that every thing fell in place perfectly in my very first step to Bollywood. Of course I will always remain indebted to director Farah Khan and Shahrukh for considering me for the film. But give me some credits as well (laughs).
In what ways have the film OM SHANTI OM affected your private life?
I am still to register all that has happened to me post OM SHANTI OM. The overnight fame, awards, millions of fan mails, interviews being taken, being called the 'Bollywood sensation'...all these is new to me. Despite being the daughter of badminton champ Prakash Padukone, and being a model for quite some time I was not used to so much media exposure and attention.
You too used to play badminton like your father. So why did you suddenly change the stream?
Initially I followed my father's footsteps and started playing badminton. Most people do not know that I even played badminton at the national level. But after sometime I realized that my heart is on modelling. But I never thought of becoming an actor at any point of my life. It was only from my second year in modelling that I started getting film offers. But I was only 18 then and decided not to jump into films till I am serious about it.
You are only 22. Don't you miss doing normal things a girl of your age does?
I moved out of home in Bangalore to work in Mumbai at a tender age. So that naturally has made me a lot more mature than my contemporary girls. But there is a price to be paid for every thing. I do normal things and have a life outside the studios as well.
Your off-screen chemistry with Ranbir Kapoor is the most talked about affair at present. Any comments?
This is the first time I am truly in love and hence we decided not to hide our feelings from public. Being in love is the loveliest of feelings. Besides I am not a person who is frivolous in relationships.
But there were news of your multiple affairs. Even you broke off with Ranbir once before restarting your relationship!
As I told you this is the first time I am in love. Having lunch with someone doesn't mean that I am having an affair with that person. As for Ranbir and my relationship, initially we were good friends. But the media linked us together when we were not even sure of our feelings for each other. Before we could spend enough time together to sort out things we got busy with our debut films and hence parted. It was only during shooting together for a flick BACHNA AE HASEENO in Australia that we got the chance to know each other and fell in love. But there is no baggage from the past, as we never parted bitterly. We started our relationship like two new people.
So when are you getting married?
Not in the next three years, at least.
Kapoor bahus are not allowed to work in films. So if asked will you quit your career for Ranbir?
It depends on the situation. Right now neither Ranbir, nor his family wants me to quit my career. So abhi se sochne ka kya fayda!

Deepika’s in Delhi!
Humne bola tha na? That Deepika Padukone will be here in Delhi to shoot for Imtiaz Ali’s untitled film? Well, she’s is here and is doing just that. Deepika arrived on Sunday. And she has a nine-day shooting schedule in Delhi. She has already shot her part at Red Fort, Purana Quila, the Gurudwara behind Humayun’s tomb, near Ina Market and Mehrauli. She’s got two days of shooting at the Lodhi Gardens and the Ashok Hotel left. Deepika looked relaxed and happy, and asked our lensman if we’d been there on other days of shooting too. And since Delhiites are a part of many scenes, people came by clicking for Deepika and Imtiaz’s photos. “The rain has spoilt some of our plans, and shooting has been delayed more than once,” revealed a unit member, adding, “People asked us if we could take pictures of themselves with Imtiaz and Deepika. She changed her dress thrice today.” The dress we have (in the pic) is the last one. Also, Deepika doesn’t forget those she loves even when working. She managed to select a gift (for whom, Deepika?) in one of the shops. Then, she sat with Imtiaz, who began to explain the next scene to her. And now, we’ve got more starry news for you. Saif Ali Khan, who along with Dinesh Vijan (Illuminati Films pvt ltd), is the producer of Imtiaz’s film, will be in town shortly. Saif is currently shooting in Srinagar. As we’d told you before, Kareena will also be in Delhi this week to meet sis Karisma. So with Bebo here, can Saif be far behind? |

Sawf News Exclusive
Preity P

To shape Deepika Padukone ’s features and make her look like a Chinese girl has not been an easy task for the maker of Chandni Chowk To China .
The most difficult part has been acquiring the slanting eyes of a Chinese as Deepika, being a South Indian girl, has got big sharp eyes.
To give a slanting look, her make-up artist has insisted her to stick tapes around her eyes.
Deepika is quoted as saying in a news report, "I don’t know how or why Nikhil Advani thought of a South Indian like me with big eyes to play a Chinese. I play half-Chinese and half-Indian in the film. And to get my eyes to look less big and rounded and more slanted, some special make-up artistes were brought in. They suggested I stick tapes around my eyes."
But horrified Deepika preferred to consult with her doctor before taking this risky step, "My doctors said if I stick those tapes on my eyes for 12 hours a day, the shape of my eyes would change forever. So, instead, we got my make-up artiste Mallika Bhatt to do my eye make-up in such a way that my eyes looked slanting," added Deepika.
Like Om Shanti Om , Deepika will be seen in a double role in ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ that stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. In one half, she will play a Chinese lady and the other half an Indian lady.

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor may be the most sought after couple of Bollywood, but they are not signing films together left and right.
Post the success of Bachna Ae Haseeno and they making their love relationship public filmmakers are eager to cast Deepika and Ranbir together in their films.
Filmmakers like Rajkumar Santoshi , Anees Bazmee and David Dhawan are keen to work with the couple approaching them with their individual projects but Ranbir and Deepika have decided to sign those projects only after analyzing them properly.
Deepika and Ranbir do not want to publicize their relationship and earn projects and do not want to work together to prove their liaison.
Next the couple will be seen disjointedly, Ranbir with Katrina Kaif in Rajniti and Deepika with Akshay Kumar in Chandni Chowk To China .
